SEASONS GREETING to all the families residing with us, as well as to staff, volunteers and donors. As we approach November Family Violence Prevention Month, I reflect on the past year’s operation of WIN House. We’ve made an incredible contribution towards increasing safety options in our community and providing supports to women and children who have been terribly impacted by this social issue.
On September 16th, at our Inaugural Under the Umbrella Gala, we were delighted to share an elegant evening with community stakeholders to celebrate their contributions toward our operations and toward over-all domestic violence prevention in our community. It was a spectacular event that acknowledged we all play a role in making a positive difference, and it was a welcome opportunity for us to demonstrate appreciation for everyone’s contributions and dedication to our mission.
WIN House continues to partner with numerous organizations to enhance services for families both on and off site. We are very pleased to announce our most recent partner, CASA Child, Adolescent and Family Mental Health, whom we have contracted with to provide on-site trauma informed services to children. This exciting partnership will provide even more intensive supports to children exposed to domestic violence and will provide further healing opportunities for families.
Staff and volunteers are at the heart of any agency and we were able to enjoy a retreat together in September, complete with wellness activities and loads of stress-relieving fun. Thanks to all you do every day!
Thanks again to all of you for helping build a safer community. I look forward to an upcoming active quarter cultivating new relationships and working together with you.
