YOGA (noun): A system of exercise for attaining bodily or mental control and well-being. – Webster’s Dictionary
When women come to WIN House they are fleeing domestic violence and its many forms of abuse. It is not just their bodies’ that need to be healed; it is their mind and soul. As a way of helping our clients find some peace of mind and inner strength, we would like to start providing them with yoga classes at each of our three shelters.
The benefits of yoga are numerous – it can help boost one’s immunity, strengthen joints and limbs, relieve stress and tension, encourage self-care, help gain confidence and so much more. Through the practice of yoga, it is our hope that WIN House clients can start their process of healing and reap the benefits for their own wellbeing.
To start the Yoga program at WIN House, we are in need of 30 new yoga mats. If you or anyone you know is able to donate a new yoga mat, please contact our Donations Associate at 780.471.6709 ext. 232 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
